Located on a grand 1920’s summer estate, Eastern Point Retreat House is a religious and spiritual retreat center. Windover completed an addition and renovation to the Retreat Center which features a new three-story, 38-bed dormitory, and a two-story connector with structural tie-ins to the Mansion Proper. The 19,125 square-foot wing was constructed in the footprint of a previous dormitory that was decommissioned and demolished at the beginning of the project. Extensive granite and brick veneer cladding was carefully procured to match the colors and texture of the Mansion Proper in order to retain the historic character of the estate. Additionally, our team renovated many outdated spaces within the Mansion Proper and connected existing heat to a new system.
The 21-acre property is a part of a larger residential community on a peninsula surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean. Careful orchestration of logistics and site management were important components of the project to ensure there was minimal disturbance to the surrounding neighborhood.
