The new residence hall on Phillip Exeter Academy’s campus consists of 60 beds and five faculty apartments. The building is situated in the heart of PEA’s campus, and part of the project included relocating and converting an existing 1870s barn into faculty housing. The barn was temporarily relocated while a new foundation was set, and then placed on its new foundation and connected to the 4-story dormitory.

Construction sequencing for New Hall was modified to mitigate disruption to the adjacent dormitory buildings and music center. The project included the demolition of an existing theater and site work included earth retention and a pile system for the foundation.
