The comprehensive renovation and addition to this historic building on Phillips Exeter Academy’s campus required careful preservation of its 1920’s charm while adapting it to 21st century standards. The new addition adds an elevator and new entry configuration to the Neo-Georgian style building. Renovations to each of the building’s three floors completely transformed the overall layout of the building to improve its functionality and to meet the operational needs of the various programs it serves. Behind the walls, the building saw significant infrastructure upgrades including new MEP systems and envelope updates including roof replacement, new windows, masonry repairs, and waterproofing.

History Sustained by Green Construction

Now completed, the Lamont Health and Wellness Center features a health clinic and outpatient space, exam rooms, health education classrooms, multipurpose meeting and function space, library, and office space. Reinforcing the school’s commitment to sustainability, the design incorporated green elements such as a green roof, rain water garden, insulated window systems, and higher-efficiency mechanical and electrical systems.
