Windover partnered with Tufts University, Finegold Alexander, and Payette to renovate and revitalize the historic Eaton Hall at the heart of Tufts’ campus. As part of Tufts’ initiative to modernize its facilities, this project prioritizes accessibility, sustainability, and adaptability for its growing community. In addition to updated classrooms, offices, and community spaces, Eaton Hall also now features a reimagined auditorium designed for flexibility, which can hold up to 280 people, as well as the new unique glass addition at the front of the building.

The project scope included a complete interior gut renovation, updating 12 classrooms, expanding office spaces, and creating a new lounge area for students. Designed by Payette, the new glass addition at the front of the building adds a modern architectural element to the building’s façade.

Connecting the new structure and systems to the historical building, parts of which were built in the early 1900s and 1940s, meant thorough MEP coordination was crucial for this project. Windover developed comprehensive BIM-MEP models and worked meticulously through coordination with the design teams and trade partners to build it virtually first and minimize issues during installation.
