Focused on creativity, Concord Academy is expanding and bringing the highly-anticipated Centennial Arts Center to its West Campus. Part of their Centennial campaign, the new performing arts center is a celebration of the school’s 100-year history. Built for collaboration and creative expression, it aims to inspire the next generation of artists while amplifying the student experience.

Windover supported Concord Academy through preconstruction alongside DSK Architects, and managed the construction of the state-of-the-art facility, which includes a 125-seat music hall, a 175-seat theater, and a significant backstage area to support large-scale productions. Seats within the theater and music hall all retractable, allowing the spaces to transform for dance performances, movie screenings, classes, and meetings. In addition to the theater, there are music rooms and recording studios built with cutting edge soundproofing design. Focused on sustainability and building for the future, the Centennial Arts Center has a zero-carbon certification standard, fossil-fuel-free climate system, and a solar-ready roof.

Windover employed meticulous planning and coordination to execute the installation of systems and equipment within the performing arts center, like the elaborate soundproofing design. Features such as layered walls, sound absorbing insulation, and floors lifted four inches off the ground to deaden the noise also required rigorous attention to detail.

Windover is proud to bring the new Centennial Arts Center to the Concord Academy campus and create new opportunities for creativity and engagement to the community.
