Each quarter, we spotlight employees who live out our core values every day. This quarter we are highlighting Employee Experience Specialist, Kelsie Thomson!

Kelsie joined Windover in 2018 and has since become a vital part of our Human Resources team. Known for her strong interpersonal skills and natural ability to connect with others, she consistently strives to stand in their shoes – approaching every interaction with empathy and understanding. Her capacity to balance multiple responsibilities with grace makes her a reliable and valued team member. One of her teammates shared: “Kelsie is both a great friend and a great coworker. She’s always there to lend a hand, no matter the situation.”

We asked Kelsie to share a few things about herself and her time at Windover.

What is your favorite thing about working at Windover?
My favorite thing about working at Windover is the people and the culture. It truly feels like a family here. Everyone is supportive, collaborative, and genuinely cares about one another’s success and wellbeing. It’s so rewarding to work for a company that values both excellence and thoughtfulness in everything we do both in and outside of work.

What is your favorite part of your job?
I love being able to make a meaningful impact on people’s experience at work, whether it’s helping someone grow in their career, improving a process that makes life easier, or creating moments that make people feel appreciated. Being in HR allows me to connect with everyone across the company and help build an environment where people feel valued and excited to come to work.

What is your favorite part about working with your team?
My team is such a positive and driven group. We balance professionalism with laughter, creativity, and genuine care for one another. We celebrate each other’s wins, jump in to help when things get busy, and always find ways to make our work more meaningful and fun. It’s a team that feels like family, which makes all the difference.

What is your current favorite thing to do in your free time?
In my free time, I love spending time with family, friends, and my pup, cooking a big meal, baking something sweet, or decorating for the next season or holiday. I also make time for exercise as it’s my way to recharge and stay grounded. And when I’m not doing that, you’ll probably find me browsing local shops or finding inspiration for my next home project or outfit with an iced coffee from a local coffee shop in hand.

If you were building your dream home, what would it include?
My dream home would feature a big, open kitchen, the true heart of the home where everyone can gather for holidays and celebrations. I’d love a cozy outdoor space for entertainment, a beautiful pantry and coffee nook, and warm, inviting décor that makes you feel welcome the moment you walk in. While I love creating a beautiful space, what means the most to me are the people who fill it. A full table surrounded by family and friends from all walks of life is what truly makes our house a home.

What is your favorite way to get involved with the community, either through Windover or other organizations?
I’m especially proud to serve as co-chair of Windover’s Social Sustainability Committee, where our mission is to support women, children, and families; promote educational programs; honor and assist local military and veterans; and champion sustainability efforts. It’s incredibly rewarding to help lead initiatives that have a lasting, positive impact in these areas.
