St. John’s Prep Wellness Center Project Scores Another Milestone

The words aesthetic, spiritual, emotional, social, intellectual and physical representing the six elements of St. John’s Prep wellness program are carved in stone gracing the front façade of their new 88,000 square-foot Wellness Center. St. John’s Prep held their Datestone Ceremony on Saturday, May 20th which included the unveiling of these letter-carved stones, and the placing of the time capsules within the walls of the new building. Windover Construction’s Project Manager, Jen Robitaille and Assistant Project Manager, Melissa Narva, participated in the day’s activities by conducting tours of the Wellness Center for alumni and families, and assisted in sealing up the wall to secure the time capsules.

Here are some interesting facts about the building and project:

  • The indoor upper-level viewing area of the field house which features a floor to ceiling glass fenestration will be one of the many ideal spots for spectators to watch indoor and outdoor sporting events, especially during inclement weather.
  • Windover’s team stabilized the earth supporting the upper athletic field with a 20’ long by 425’ high solider pile and lagging retention system.
  • The solar array field adjacent to the building will provide three-quarters of the Wellness Center’s electricity.

The comprehensive Wellness Center will be the new home for St. John’s Prep wellness and athletics programs and activities for all grade levels, and is on track to complete in early Fall 2017.
